Donate now through MRDF to the ACT International response. Following the disputed election, three weeks of ethnic violence and rioting have left 650 people dead and more than 255,000 people displaced from their homes and communities. Conflict has affected urban and rural areas. In western Kenya, homes and farms have been destroyed; one of the worst incidents saw 30 villagers burned alive in a church. In Nairobi, violence has exploded, particularly in the poor slums.
More than quarter of a million people, many of them women and children, have been forced from their homes and are in camps without shelter, food or clean water.

MRDF is responding to this crisis through ACT, Action by Churches Together, to supply essentials such as food, kitchen sets, mosquito nets, blankets and sanitary towels. ACT has 11 members in Kenya, including the Methodist Church, who are working together to ensure they respond where there are locally identified needs not already being met by other humanitarian agencies. Please help us; donate now to our Kenya fund.
