The World AIMS Project (World Action in Methodist Schools) is a partnership between Methodist Independent Schools and MRDF.

It helps 16 Methodist schools to develop whole-school approaches to development education, at curricular, extra-curricular and policy levels, that mirror the importance of the wider world in our everyday lives.

World AIMS seeks to:

  • promote understanding of key global development issues
  • explore the connections between the global and the local
  • provide opportunities to respond to these issues as global citizens.
Activities include:
  • embedding a global dimension in the curriculum (planning, resources, workshops)
  • environmental projects (e.g. Eco Schools)
  • fair trade projects (e.g. Fairtrade schools)
  • global school partnerships
  • MRDF project visits
  • student advocacy (e.g. Climate Change, Global Campaign for Education)
  • local community action.
